Chef Uri Jeremias, also known as "Uri Bury," began in 2003, in the process of preserving and renovating an impressive building in the heart of Old Acre that has been renovated, restored and converted into a high-quality boutique hotel "The Efendi Hotel", which is unlike any other hotel. The uniqueness of the hotel stems from its cultural and historical value and the level of extensive conservation and restoration work invested on the site.
Reception Hall and Lobby, Hotel Efendi
The hotel has 12 rooms of high finish, each with its own unique character and character. Some have painted and decorated ceilings unique to the Ottoman period restored by restoration experts and Venice-Italy artists who specialize in reconstruction of murals, and some can be up to 6 m high. Upstairs, a spacious central space, which extends between the rooms and is decorated with arches, large vaulted windows and circular windows lined with development. Most of the hotel's windows overlook the sea, and some overlook the spectacular and pastoral views of ancient Acre. From the roof of the hotel, the roofs of the houses, the mosque turrets and of course the sea are visible. In the main dining room is a knightly table made of natural wood where the hotel's breakfasts are served and from there descend to a unique Crusader cellar with Byzantine remnants converted into a wine cellar.
Upper Lobby, The Efendi Hotel
The building has an original 400-year-old Turkish hamam, which has been renovated and restored. Its design blends with the hotel's atmosphere as a tribute to the illuminated history of the ancient building. The building was declared a building for strict preservation and guarded by the Israel Antiquities Authority, while maintaining the magnificent past of the home. Therefore, the renovation took several years.
