"The Last Hour of Mr. Cole," Doron Eran's film, was created as a protest film that addresses the link between governing capital and the judiciary, corporate conspiracies, and freedom. The film is based on Joshua Sobol's award-winning play, which adapted it for the screenplay and premiered at the recent Haifa festival.


The film centers on the last hour of attorney Mickey Cole, before entering prison following a judge's assault. The plot: Cole stands at the entrance to the prison, receiving a phone call that devours the cards and reveals to him that not everything is lost in the same sentence in which he lost his wife, fortune and liberty. During that hour, through telephone conversations with the women in his life and through flashes of key moments during the course of the trial, Mickey Cole tries to discover the truth about the failure of the trial and (even with himself) an acrimonious account.
