Dana Rosenthal Brandeis / Self-published
A novel about a subject that has not been spoken of to this day in Hebrew literature. A Jewish girl from Berlin was sent in December 1938 as part of a rescue mission for the children, the Kinder Transport, to Scotland, and was absorbed by a Christian family. She expects her family members to come and return her to her home, but their arrival is delayed. In the shadow of the knowledge entrusted to them for a limited time, she and her hosts must deal with her longing for her family and the complex consequences of their attachment to each other.
It is a story about the fate of promise, parenthood and loss and the identity torn between continents in the shadow of World War II.
